Who We Are
Owned and operated since 1978, our team at Ye Olde Chimney Sweepe takes your issues seriously.
Our mission at Ye Olde Chimney Sweepe, a professional service industry company, that strives for excellence pertaining to the maintenance of fireplaces, wood burning appliances, chimneys, and dryer vents in accordance with industry codes and guidelines, along with the personal business goal of open and honest communication with customers and team members/employees.
Founded in 1978 by Dan Kennedy, Ye Olde Chimney Sweepe is one of the oldest continuing chimney sweep companies in Arkansas. Mr. Kennedy ran the business until the late 1980s, when his son took over. From there, Mark Jenkins bought the business from Mr. Kennedy’s son. Ye Olde Chimney Sweepe would stay under the stewardship of Mr. Jenkins from 1991 to 1997. Ye Olde Chimney Sweepe was then purchased in August 1997 by Damon Reed, a professional firefighter from 1994-2022, and his wife Jennifer, who are the current owners.
Damon says: “When I purchased the business, I operated out of a 5’x10’ utility trailer pulled by a Jeep Wrangler and used my home garage.” In late 2001, Damon purchased a truck and a 6’x12’ cargo trailer. The business would continue to grow, and in 2003, Damon hired his first employees, two off-duty firefighters. In 2009, Ye Olde Chimney Sweepe placed a van in service with five employees total: Himself, Jennifer, and three firefighters.
Presently, Ye Olde Chimney Sweepe operates out of a shop/office located at 3155 Cimarron Drive in Conway. There are three service vans, an installation truck, and several trailers, as well as the 2001 truck. These vehicles are used to aid in the various jobs that Ye Olde Chimney Sweepe performs, such as installs, dryer vents, and chimney inspections/sweeping. Ye Olde Chimney Sweepe employs four lead technicians, two of whom are firefighters, two who are full time, a full-time assistant tech, and a full-time office customer service tech. Damon runs the business and is in the field about half the time. That's ten employees (double the amount from the 2009 expansion) including Damon and Jennifer, and their two sons.
“Through the blessings of the Good Lord, Ye Olde Chimney Sweepe has provided for my family for more than 28 years. Jennifer and I have always ran the business with the golden rule in mind, treat others as you want to be treated.”
